Q: HOW LONG IS AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
A : Engagement sessions are up to 60 minutes. I suggest selecting one location in order for us to maximize our shooting time together. You will be amazed at how quickly 60 minutes goes!
If you would like to take photos at more than one location, I recommend an extended engagement session (90 minutes) which allows for two locations during your session. There is a +150 fee to upgrade your session.
Q: WHEN SHOULD WE SCHEDULE OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
A: You can schedule your shoot as soon as you contract + retainer are received. I recommend scheduling your session at least one month before your wedding. Some of my couples opt to schedule their session for their favorite season or others schedule it right away. Because my weekends are filled with weddings, engagement sessions take place during the week, and the popular months like October book up quick.
Q: WHERE SHOULD WE TAKE OUR PHOTOS AT?
A : I love it when my couples select a location that is different from what they want for their wedding day photos. If you are getting married in the city, opt for a parklike location. Saying, “I Do” in the ‘burbs, pick a beautiful skyline location. I know all of the best locations, and I am happy to send over suggestions. And because I adore natural light, I encourage outdoors locations or beautiful conservatories.
Q: WHAT IF IT RAINS?
A : I watch (i.e. stalk) the weather the week of your session. 24 hours before our shoot, I will email you if the weather looks iffy. If it looks like rain, we will reschedule your session for another day.
Q: WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
A : I have an amazing style guide that I will send you prior to your engagement session that gives you a ton of advice. Most of my clients opt for two different looks : one dressy and one more casual. When in doubt, neutrals tend to look best on camera and work well in any location.
Q : WHEN WILL WE GET TO SEE THE PHOTOS FROM OUR SESSION?
A: You will have your image collection within 3 weeks of your session.
Q: CAN WE BRING OUR PUP?
A : Please! I love furbabies, and I would love to include them in our shoot. For some advice about including your pup in your photos, be sure to check out our favorite tips on the blog.
Q : DO WE HAVE TO ORDER PRINTS THROUGH YOU?
A : I highly recommend ordering prints / albums through the studio, but it is not required. The difference in quality is huge when it comes to ordering through a professional lab, so I do encourage clients to order prints through the studio. Your session includes a print release, so you are free to order prints elsewhere.
